The time has gone to leave Adelaide, not sure where the last 4 weeks have gone but it has flown by.
I’ve spent the weeks working in a couple of odd jobs, one day I worked with another lady putting Christmas decorations up in the street outside the hostel, and for about 5 days I have been doing removals; helping a someone move house from one end of the street to another. This job turned out to be more fun than it sounded; the man next door (who was also the landlord) was helping and he is an old, really old Italian, I couldn’t understand most of what he said, also the woman is a white witch or something and sells herbal remedies for a living, her house was full of various concoctions which took ages to move.
Other than work Helen and I went on a kayak tour to see some dolphins. It was down at the local port (Port Adelaide would you believe), dolphins can be found at the port every day, well everyday apart from the day we went kayaking! The tour guide said this was the first time he has not seen dolphins on the tour, but we got to kayak around and see some mangroves anyway.
Things got a bit Christmassy last night when we made some mulled wine with a couple of German girls, it turned out surprisingly nice and we managed to get a little merry (suffered for it today though).
Just packed our bags and are ready for our flight with Tiger Air tomorrow morning, we are heading to Melbourne for 9 days then off to Malaysia after that. Quite sad to leave Adelaide, but I think its more of us having got settled here than any attachment to Adelaide itself. The hostel owner took us over to the pub earlier and bought us a couple of goodbye pints which was nice.
Next update should come from Melbourne the ‘cultural capital of Australia’.
